Kathy and her
husband, David, opened the first full service bead store in
Naperville, Illinois, in October of 2002. After a visit to
David’s sister’s house where their daughter visited a bead
store, Kathy couldn’t stop thinking about the concept and in
just 6 weeks The Place to Bead opened for business.
After two years in business, a passion for Venetian beads
quickly emmerged and Bella Venetian Beads was born. BVB now has
the largest showroom of Venetian beads in the country with the
finest selection of genuine Venetian beads.
Beading is a feel
good activity and Kathy enjoys sharing this with one and all,
whether they are a beginner or have been beading for years.
Kathy also likes teaching all types of classes from wire
wrapping, beginning beading, pearl knotting, seed bead projects,
to chainmaille. Making jewelry gives instant gratification and
is the great escape we all need to have to wind down each day.
Kathy and David have two children, Allison and Andrew and two
dogs, Beamer and Buster. The European Bead Cruise is a result
of a passion for cruising and the love of Italy and Venetian
beads. Kathy believes cruising is the best vacation experience
possible and wants to share this with everyone!
